Tobar
Sofia Tobar started with VIP Building Services in 1998. She came
aboard with an impressive and diverse background in both accounting
and marketing. Since her arrival at VIP she has displayed a zest for
learning new skills, continuing to strive for personal excellence. These
attributes have propelled her rapidly into more advanced positions within
the VIP organization. Sofia started as a secretary, then was promoted
to Office Manager and finally elevated to her present position of Account
Manager. For the past four years, Sofia has functioned as VIP’s
BOMA representative. During that time she has served on the BOMA Community
Services Committee, three of those years she held the position of Committee
Chair. In 2002, her extraordinary dedication and commitment was recognized
as she received BOMA’s Committee Chairperson of the Year award.
During her tenure on the committee she also spearheaded some landmark
projects including planning, organizing and supervising the building
of a Habitat for Humanity home for a needy family, organizing a canned
food drive which collected 30,000 lbs. of food, managing BOMA’s
participation in the annual Christmas Angel program, along with many
other notable causes. Sofia truly enjoys her job, but the love of her
life is her six year old son, Forrest. When time permits she also has
a great affinity for home renovations.
